HOw I got to where I am!
I was born and raised in a small town in Wisconsin where my passion for photography began. During my senior year of high school you could find me in the dark room or editing and creating on the computers in the graphic design room.
My creative brain never ends as I am constantly thinking of what I want to create next. The ideas always come late at night when I am trying to sleep or when i'm in the shower with nothing to jot my ideas down. The struggle is real sometimes.
When I was twenty one I moved from my home town to live in New York and experience the East Coast life. Living out east catapulted my photography career from 0-100, and I was honored to have met some the most incredible people that helped me take my skills to the next level. Photographing people in New York City is something I would have never dreamed of doing in my lifetime, and here I was doing it almost every chance I could. At this moment in my life I was still finding my way around the camera, my style ,What I liked and I didn't like and lets be honest my personality. I was trying it all.
After 6.5 years of living on the East Coast my Husband and I decided to make a big move to Sonoma County California.
Moving from Wisconsin to New York was one of the most challenging things I had ever done up until this point in my life journey.
Boy was I mistaken as moving from coast to coast brought an entirely new set of challenges. I had to create new relationships, find new clients, find new locations to shoot, along with finding my new favorite places (i.e.my favorite Mexican restaurant with the best salsa along with best margaritas ;this is important) while trying to adapt in the life style of a West Coast local.
My first year living in Sonoma County my photography took a bit of a back seat as I was trying to get my life in order. Picking my business back up, I have met an amazing community of creators and photographers who all have the perfect eye for light, emotion and the passion for photography. I can not wait to see what Sonoma county and California has to offer along with my travels this year. I will be in the following locations this year.
